Lead Hair Stylist / Team Lead

FS Cut & Color in Galveston is looking for a licensed stylist with strong guest service, positive energy, and natural leadership ability to join our team as a Lead Hair Stylist / Team Lead.

This is a great opportunity for a stylist who enjoys working behind the chair but also likes helping the team, supporting the salon manager, encouraging continued education, and creating a great experience for every guest.

We are looking for someone who is dependable, professional, upbeat, and ready to lead by example.

About the Role

The Lead Hair Stylist / Team Lead is a working stylist position with added leadership responsibility. You will perform hair services, help support the daily salon environment, assist the manager with salon standards, encourage team growth, and help create a positive, guest-focused culture.

This role is ideal for someone who wants to grow in leadership without stepping completely away from the chair.

What You’ll Do

• Provide haircuts, color, styling, and finishing services
• Create a welcoming, professional guest experience
• Lead by example in attitude, appearance, communication, and service quality
• Support the salon manager with daily flow, team communication, and salon standards
• Help keep the team organized, focused, and working together
• Assist stylists with guest service standards, consultations, and salon expectations
• Encourage continued education, skill development, and a growth mindset within the team
• Support team members as they improve technical skills, product knowledge, and guest communication
• Help maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and salon presentation
• Encourage teamwork and positive communication
• Support retail recommendations, rebooking, and guest retention
• Help handle guest concerns with professionalism and a solution-focused mindset
• Communicate with ownership/management about salon needs, guest concerns, and team opportunities

What We’re Looking For

• Current Texas cosmetology license
• Salon experience preferred
• Strong haircutting, color, styling, and consultation skills
• Friendly, professional communication
• Positive attitude and team-centered mindset
• Dependability and initiative
• Ability to lead by example
• Willingness to support the manager and help carry out salon standards
• Interest in continued education and helping others grow
• Confidence supporting guests and team members
• Willingness to coach and be coached
• Flexible availability, including some evenings and weekends
• Knowledge of TDLR sanitation standards preferred
